VASE WANTED

DIGITAL EXPERIMENT

Where do I attach my belongingness to, when I am away from my family and home?

After years and years of drifting around different places around the world, I started to question where I belong, and where I see myself be at “home.”

After conversing with myself, I found myself attaching my belongingness, and projecting my “home” onto the vase. It contains another living being, to be with me, in the space that contains me.
To me, this nonessential, decorative object is the one thing that I am privileged to own, and chose to put into my “borrowed home.” It represents steadiness, and acts as the bond between myself and the temporary “home.”

With long interests in geometric versus organic shapes, and contrasts between various materials, 3D modeling is a suitable tool for experiments. Drew inspirations from my hometown folk life, Chinese ceramics / porcelains, and architectures. Tie my past experiences and my Chinese root to the vases.
