SUPER-K | SUPER-KAMIOKANDE
IDENTITY SYSTEM
Super-K is the large water Cherenkov detector, located 1,000m underground in the Kamioka-mine, Hida, Gifu, Japan. Neutrino oscillations in atmospheric neutrinos were discovered by Super-K in 1998 which thereby demonstrated that neutrinos have a finite mass. Super-K has been leading the world best neutrino experiment, and its purposes are:
• To reveal the properties of neutrinos
• To observe the Universe by neutrinos
• To discover a proton decay and elucidate the Grand Unified Theories
A 8-week-long identity design project. It starts with research, through design phase, and finally ends with a booklet presentation.
